BridgeHours is built around respect, dignity, and choice. These Safety Guidelines exist to help conversations remain comfortable, constructive, and human.
BridgeHours does not supervise conversations, but we provide structure and support so participants can engage responsibly.
1. General Principles
When using BridgeHours, we ask all participants to follow these principles:
- • Treat others with respect and courtesy
- • Participate voluntarily and honestly
- • Respect personal boundaries and differences
- • Prioritize comfort over obligation
No one is required to share personal information or continue a conversation that feels uncomfortable.
2. Conversation Boundaries
BridgeHours conversations are intended to be:
- • respectful
- • non-transactional
- • non-exploitative
They are not intended to provide:
- • medical advice
- • legal advice
- • financial advice
- • therapy or counseling
- • caregiving services
BridgeHours does not provide medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic services.
Participants should avoid presenting themselves as professionals offering such services.
3. Online Conversations
For online conversations:
- • Use platforms you are comfortable with (video, phone, or audio)
- • You are not required to turn on video
- • Do not record conversations without explicit mutual consent
- • End the conversation at any time if you feel uncomfortable
BridgeHours does not record or monitor online conversations.
4. In-Person Conversations
If you choose to meet in person, please follow these guidelines carefully:
- • Meet in public places (libraries, cafés, community spaces)
- • Prefer daytime meetings
- • Do not meet in private residences for first meetings
- • Arrange your own transportation
- • Trust your instincts — leave if something feels off
BridgeHours strongly encourages participants to prioritize personal safety over politeness.
5. Personal Information and Privacy
- • Share personal details only if and when you feel comfortable
- • Do not pressure others to disclose private information
- • Respect requests for privacy or boundaries
- • Do not share another participant's information outside the platform
6. Ending or Pausing Participation
You may:
- • pause a conversation
- • decline future sessions
- • request a rematch
- • stop using BridgeHours at any time
No explanation is required.
Ending a conversation respectfully is always acceptable.
7. Prohibited Behavior
The following behavior is not allowed on BridgeHours:
- • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination
- • Sexual content or advances
- • Solicitation, sales, or promotion
- • Manipulation or coercion
- • Requests for money or favors
- • Impersonation or misrepresentation
Accounts engaging in prohibited behavior may be suspended or removed.
8. Reporting Concerns
If you experience or observe behavior that violates these guidelines:
- • Use the in-platform reporting option (if available), or
- • Contact us directly at support@bridgehours.io
Reports are reviewed with care and discretion. Retaliation for reporting concerns is not tolerated.
9. Emergency Situations
BridgeHours is not an emergency service.
If you believe you are in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency:
