Bridging generations,
one conversation at a time
BridgeHours exists to create meaningful connections between older and younger generations through simple, private, one-on-one conversations.
Our mission
We believe that wisdom and perspective aren't commodities to be extracted. They're gifts that emerge naturally when two people choose to show up for each other.
BridgeHours isn't about fixing loneliness or teaching skills. It's about creating space for genuine human connection—the kind that social media promised but never delivered.
No performance. No metrics. Just presence.
What we're not
Not a social network
No feeds, no likes, no follower counts
Not a service
No one is the helper or the helped
Not therapy
Just conversation between equals
Not extractive
We don't mine data or sell attention
Our values
Privacy first, always
Your conversations are yours. We don't record, analyze, or monetize them. No tracking cookies, no ad networks, no data brokers. We make money through optional subscriptions, not surveillance.
Simplicity over features
We resist the urge to add gamification, engagement tricks, or viral mechanics. BridgeHours does one thing well: helps two people find each other and schedule time to talk.
Accessible by design
We build for all ages and abilities. Large text, clear navigation, and no complicated features. If your grandmother can't use it, we haven't finished building it.
Connection, not metrics
Success isn't measured in engagement rates or time-on-site. It's measured in conversations that actually happened, connections that actually mattered.
Why we built this
The gap between generations has never been wider. Social media promised to connect us but instead created echo chambers and anxiety. Older adults feel invisible. Young adults feel overwhelmed.
Meanwhile, both groups have something the other needs: perspective, wisdom, curiosity, energy. But there's no good way to bridge that gap without it feeling transactional or performative.
BridgeHours started with a simple question: What if we just helped two people find time to talk?
No profile to curate. No content to create. No metrics to chase. Just a reminder that Wednesday at 3pm is when you and Margaret are going to talk about gardening, or nothing in particular.
That's it. That's the whole idea.
For institutions and communities
Senior centers, universities, community organizations, and retirement communities can use BridgeHours to strengthen intergenerational connections without heavy operations.
